Watch it played

Gizmo Fuzz on a real guitar, in a full mix. Every knob you see moving is the plug-in, live.

Hear it

One guitar take, six settings. Flip between DRY and GIZMO while it plays. Both versions go through the same speaker and room, so the only difference you hear is the plug-in.

Direct guitar through a small preamp, then the Gizmo Fuzz v1.1 engine, then a slightly driven amp, a touch of spring reverb, a simple 2x12 open-back speaker and a small room for the demo. Levels are matched by ear-weighted loudness, with GIZMO a touch louder.

Nine knobs.
No menus.

Everything sits on the face, like a pedal. Four windows down the middle show the signal moving through pick ▸ envelope ▸ fuzz ▸ filter, and the screen on top draws the sound coming out.

Fuzz

How much distortion.

Bias

Left sputters and starves, middle is normal, right gets compressed and hairy.

Starve

The supply sags when you dig in. Hard picks pull the voltage down, and the built-in gate starts to chatter.

Envelope

How far your pick attack sweeps the filter.

Mouth

The filter's voice: MUP, WAH, QUACK, YOW.

Synth

A wobbly saw-and-sub voice that follows your guitar's pitch.

Mid

Scoop to the left, push through the mix to the right.

Kill Rate

Snaps to 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 or RND, with free speeds in between.

Level

Output volume.

Footswitch

Howl

Slides your note up exactly two octaves, like a whammy pedal sitting in front of the fuzz. Fast on the way up, slow and a little dark on the way down.

  • Tap to latch
  • Hold for momentary
  • Best on single notes
Killswitch

Kill

Chops the sound fully on and off, locked to your DAW's tempo. RND mode makes a random 1/32 pattern that repeats in the same place every time the song plays.

  • Synced to host tempo
  • Default 1/8 notes
  • Button blinks with the chop

Questions & policies

If something here doesn't answer it, email us and a real person replies.

Can I try it before I buy?

Yes. The free trial is the full plug-in with every feature on for 5 days, no card needed. After that the sound cuts out for 2 seconds every 6 seconds until you enter a license key. Buying a key unlocks the same download, so there is nothing to reinstall.

Does it work on Windows?

Yes. Gizmo Fuzz runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) as a VST3, in FL Studio, Ableton Live, Reaper and other VST3 hosts. Your download has both the Mac and Windows versions, and the same licence key works on either.

Why does my computer warn me when I install it?

macOS and Windows warn about any software that isn't signed through Apple's or Microsoft's paid developer programs. The plug-in is safe to run; approving it once (Privacy & Security on Mac, More info ▸ Run anyway on Windows) is all it needs.

Can I use it on more than one computer?

Yes, one licence works on up to 2 computers, Mac or PC in any mix. Moving to a new computer? Click "Deactivate this Mac" (or "Deactivate this PC") in the plug-in on the old one, then activate on the new one.
